Toka

Terms and Conditions

Last updated 1 October 2026

These terms cover use of Toka, operated by Ma Katrina Estrella Padilla, trading as Deskarti (ABN 32 276 237 390). They apply to the business whose account it is, from when we open it.

What Toka does

Toka gives your customer one page to pay from. They can pay the whole amount, divide it between several people so each pays you directly, or stay responsible for it and invite others to contribute. Toka records who is responsible for what, and as each payment settles records it against the original invoice in your accounting system.

What Toka is not

Toka is not a payment service and never holds your funds. Payments are processed by your payment provider under your own agreement with them, and the money moves between the payer and you. Toka has no balance, no float and no custody of funds at any point — it records and reconciles what moved. Toka does not lend, does not guarantee that any payer will pay, and does not collect debts on your behalf.

Toka does not decide who owes what. It records the split you set. Whether someone is actually liable for a share is between you and them, and a dispute about it is yours to resolve.

Your responsibilities

  • that you are entitled to invoice the amounts you split, and to give us the names and email addresses of the people you are asking to pay
  • keeping your sign-in details secure, and telling us promptly if they are compromised
  • maintaining your own agreements with your payment provider and accounting system
  • the accuracy of what you enter, including amounts and who is responsible for them

Do not use Toka to request payment you are not entitled to, or to reach data that is not yours.

Payers and contributors

A payer receives a link, sees the share they have been asked to pay, and pays it directly through the payment provider. A contributor is someone a payer invites to help pay that share — the payer stays responsible for it, and a contribution reduces what is left rather than moving the responsibility. Neither creates an account. A link expires after 30 days and you can revoke it sooner.

Fees

Toka is free. There is no subscription, no setup fee and nothing to pay for using it.

You pay your payment provider’s processing fees on each payment, under your own agreement with them and at the rates they publish. We receive a share of those fees from the provider — that is how Toka is paid, and it does not add anything to what you are charged. If this ever changes we will tell you first, as set out under Changes and ending.

Availability

We work to keep Toka available but cannot guarantee it is never interrupted — Toka depends on your payment provider and your accounting system, and those can go down independently of us. Toka is provided as it is, and we do not promise it will suit every way of billing.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Where we are permitted to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, we limit it to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of revenue or indirect loss, and our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or AUD $100 if that is greater. Toka never holds your funds, so it cannot lose them.

Changes and ending

You can stop using Toka at any time, and we may suspend an account being used unlawfully or in breach of these terms. If we change these terms we will update the date at the top and email account holders at least 14 days before the change takes effect; if you do not accept it, you can close your account before then. When an account closes we stop issuing new payment requests, payments already in progress are allowed to finish, and we keep records for as long as the privacy policy says.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that place. Contact: hello@letstoka.com.
